  1. Started Code Red 1 week ago, I was in great shape 20 years ago but at 60 realized I've let the weight pack on. I'm excited to see what the future holds. I've always heard a diabetic diet is healthy and sustainable. Thanks for Code Red.

  2. I have had type 2 diabetes for about a decade or so now. I blame myself for eating a lifetime of crap foods, fast food, convenience snacks, sodas, etc. I am a single guy at 6'3" and weighed close to 400 lbs at one point. I changed my diet to healthier whole REAL foods about 5 years ago and immediately lost about 50lbs just from that diet change! I still had my carb/sugar addiction but I knew it. With all my research about my diabetes, I had an idea what I needed to do but didn't know how. I tries the shakes, etc. and…nope. Many of THOSE have a lot of carbs too!

Then I listened to your book. What you said tied everything I learned all together into a working plan. I am on the road to lose the weight using your freely available advice. I drink the water. I weigh myself. I count the calories (ballpark figures mostly for now until I will plateau). And I get the sleep I need. You have pointed me in the right direction. I am pretty poor so I cannot afford a customized plan but you have given me the means to watch and adjust as needed now. I read your book around Christmas and started my diet on Jan 7th. I lost 15lbs in 2 weeks and I have virtually NO sugar cravings. I am down under 310lbs as of now, goal weight of 230lbs (or less!). I can do this! My favorite meal right now is a frozen seafood mix (mussels, shrimp, squid, clams, etc.) with frozen veggie mix all grilled together in olive oil and seasoned with various spices. Yum! Thanks so much for tying everything together for me!

  3. I need to lose weight. I have just come upon your website and videos. My major problem is sugar. I can leave soda alone but, my biggest problem is candy and ice cream. I had a stroke in 2008. At that point in time, I lost a good 40 pounds. I don't need to get that thin again because it was a sickly thin. I would like to lose 20 pounds. Can I do it by simply following your cookbook?

  4. I have trouble sleeping, I long and pray for a 7 to 8 hour sleep. I do everything, I have read about.. warm bath, dark room , turn off TV . and everything else I go to bed at the same time every night. I get anywhere from 3 to 5 hours sleep a night. My Dr. gave me sleeping pills ,they did not work, it is in my DNA. my grandmother, my dad, my sisters, and myself all have this problem, well not my dad or grandmother anymore, they have passed. I love broccoli . I am starting code red challenge in January. I hope drinking a gallon of water does not keep me up at night. I am 5 ft 1 in, and weight 140. I want to be 120.

  5. Thank you Cristy! Sadly this doesn't end when your kids are grown with kids of their own. Dealing with this now to the point of tears! However, I was wise enough to take the Challenge in June this year and I am more confident and secure in my self and I can and will get past this too! Side note I've lost over 85 pounds gone from a size 3X to a ladies size 14!! I'll see you in Twin Falls tomorrow!

  6. Christy – You are the BOMB…you say it like it is, it's simple! ANYBODY can and EVERYBODY should eat REAL food!! We don't need the CRAP food!! Thank you for being so REAL!! 🙂

  7. This way of eating has changed my life and simply put, it works. I've lost 57 lbs since April, my lab results are much improved, and I feel great! No longer being addicted to sugar/crap food is the best thing I could have ever done for my health & well-being. Never going back!

  8. My CPAP machine usually records 7 hours of sleep each night. Water is almost always a gallon daily. Favorite veggie is brussel sprouts. Thanks for helping me to take back my life. I started the Code Red program on 2/26/18 and am down 65 lbs so far.
