    Seriously though, great info. Good to see where my favorite foods fall on the list. I appreciate the reminder to switch it up and not get stuck eating the same foods when better options are in the pantry.

  2. Geez what should I eat ???!!! I’m a vegan I don’t eat oil I rarely eat fruit and when I do it’s usually a handful of dates ! I don’t eat rice and I don’t eat any kind of wheat true fact I’m so bored with food it’s insane

  3. With all due respect, most of the information here is wrong. Citric foods alkalize the body. Plants will not overwhelm your body by creating an acidic environment. I really like you, but I frankly hate the mechanistic speculation, esp when the mechanisms being described are also just wrong. The acid formation by protein is also a myth.

  4. Alkaline diet seems to be just pseudoscience. Alkaline diet bans many whole grains but Mainstream science consensus and longevity blue zones say whole grains are healthy. Nuts and seeds also make people live longer which shows alkaline diet that bans most nuts is pseudoscience.

  5. Would you please elaborate on tea and coffee being acid forming, stressing the buffering system. I thought coffee was encouraged in cancer for its effect on boosting glutathione, and teas like amla, matcha and hibiscus for their high antioxidant / ORAC values?

  6. If it's the mineral content you are using for the criteria of determining the alkalinity/acidity of fruits, then oranges have a calcium to phosphorus ratio of 3.5 to 1 which is higher than spinach at 2:1. Collards actually have the highest calcium to phosphorus ratio of 9.2:1.

    Lemons have 2:1 and kale 1.6 to 1. Oranges are high in potassium and magnesium too, which are both alkaline minerals.

  7. Hey I appreciate your content but I'm wondering how you came to certain conclusions for ex) particular foods to eat with strongest alkalizing effects? I feel like I just have to take your word for it without any sources provided by you. From watching your videos it seems that you will sometimes provide a study or source on screen for a claim and sometimes you won't. I assume you don't always do it because its tedious and time consuming. I say this as a vegan who tries to eat a wide variety of plants as they all have differing benefits and cons if consumed in excess. And again I do appreciate your content as veganism and whole plant foods have really helped me alleviate suffering unnecessarily from a poor diet, so thank you for your work 🙂
