Antioxidants: Superfood or Super-hyped?

Antioxidants have been linked to living a longer and healthier life, but there’s been some backlash as to its actual effects. So what’s the verdict on antioxidants?


  1. Antioxidants remove oxides like rust from our bodies. Oxides reduce oxygen to cells. Less oxygen to cells and higher body pH greater chance of cancer. We know many metal oxides are bad for us. Nitric oxide is good for heart conditions. As it allows less oxygen up take to keep blood cells flowing. Oxygen reacts to metals in our bodies just like we see outside our bodies.

  2. Yet another bullshit video!! I've been taking antioxidants consistently for 18 years and my health is near perfect. Alpha lipoic acid, pycnogenol, resveratrol and glutathione are the most potent in the world! Stop spreading these lies! You must be kin to the Orange idiot at 1600 Pennsylvania ave.

  3. For the past few months I have been drinking lot of green tea(full of antioxidants and vitems) must drink plain two thermos minimum or one more 250mil a day In total 1 liter daily. I've noticed that my acne went away shortly after I started drinking them it also healed my skin big time. Next I'm going to test if green coffee at least three times a day decaf to see it will affect my health I'll have to see though the results in three months. That's how long it took to get results depending on your body weight.

  4. I have been smoking cigs for the last 10 years, smoking cannabis for the last 16 years, i was a heroin addict for 6 years and i have done every single drug you can think of. BUT, I'm also a fucking health freak, I drink all kinds of teas, I eat healthy, i take NAC which increases your own endogenous antioxidants and I take herbal medicine. My point is, I am almost 30 years old and I still look like im 20, always been fit, Never get sick and my mind works better than most people. So stop eating bullshit and use natural medicine, you will thank yourself later.

  5. This video is fucking cancer, all it's going to do is make people feel good about their bad eating habits, and harm people with chronic diseases. Fringe science at it's best. But ofc saying "antioxidants are good for you" isn't as click-baity, everyone knows that.

  6. Is being alive healthy?
    It's proven time and time again that being alive DRASTICALLY increases the chances of all known diseases, also it is terrible enough that it GUARANTEES death.

Wow what a bunch of "I have no clue what I'm talking about but it's great to attract views by defying comonly accepted science…" just leaving people confused and frustrated with how they can't trust anything anymore. Great job!

  8. That was ill informed and irresponsible. Why didn't you do some research and state to the only was to improve blood antioxidant levels is by eating whole plant foods. Yes antioxidant supplement s are a waste, but VEGETABLES. why did you leave out eating actual fruits and vegetables

  9. Just like most proteins and molecules in your body, there are different types of anti-oxidants. They definitely do help in preventing damage so there needs to be a clearer distinction between which types are detrimental to health instead of misleading the general population

  10. The problem is that we focus too much on macronutrients instead of whole foods… fruits vegetables, grains, and nuts instead of carbs, protein, fats, vitamins, antioxidants..
