  2. I know Matty always says he talks too much, but I love hearing him talk about music. The whole part where he talks about Sincerity is Scary legit made me well up a little. The fact that he acknowledges that some musicians just had/have that special something in them that operates on a higher level, how gospel music–black music makes you feel that "god frequency" even if you're a stone cold heathen (like I am), his love of Trumpets…Chills! It sounds hippy dippy but I know what he means because I've felt it too. It's refreshing hearing artists talk about stuff like that.

  3. I love how intellectual and open minded Matty is. He has so much wisdom for his age I love to see an artist mature and grow on their journey. So glad I discovered this awesome band! Their is good music out here still, but you have to be willing to discover it! 💜

  4. So much insight, intelligence and understanding of music and its meaning – wow!!! Flove Matty … could listen to him explain the music forever. Especially hearing him talk about ‘it’s not living if it’s not with you’ – wow!!! When he talks about music being tangible – omg … that’s exactly how I feel when I listen to some songs. It’s not the music or the lyrics that drive me to fall in love with the song …. it’s the feeling I get in my gut when I listen. All of my friends think I’m crazy but that’s how I see music. Its got to make me ‘feel’. Matty just summed up in that one sentence just how I feel when I listen to The 1975! 💗
So glad to see him happy, clean and healthy!!!

  5. What Matt's saying about "Love It If We Made It"….I first heard the song just over a week ago and I just knew this song HAD to register emotionally in a big way withim. Definitely does with me; one of my allt-ime faves, now.

  6. it's so crazy how much meaning is put behind every song, even if its unintentional, and how they can start conversations that could go on forever. musically genius and thought provoking, all in one. can't wait to see them live!! so much love for this band

  7. Matty's comments about "you" and the "you" that goes on holiday to get away from it all are so true. We have to face ourselves and be with ourselves no matter what path we take. An educational and inspiring interview!
