Basketball to Drug Trafficking: The Story of Pee Wee Kirkland

Richard “Pee Wee” Kirkland began playing basketball in the streets of Harlem when he was 9-years-old. By age 13, he split his time between playing ball and …

  1. What I don't get is why he didn't just sell drugs and play in the NBA at the same time. He apparently paid to play basketball at Norfolk State for 4 years while he was selling drugs. In the Vlad interview he claimed that Norfolk State didn't wanna give him a scholarship because they saw all the exotic cars he was driving to school. Why not just play in the NBA for $40k, for the love of the game, and just continue to sell drugs like he was doing in college? Sounds like he was able to manage doing both at the same time.

  2. Gotta love all these people in the comments saying what they would have done different, and how they would have done it better. Lmao, long story short – do it. Or shut up.

  3. This is ridiculous. this guy destroyed and sold heroin to his own community. How many children were left neglected to drug use, how many people robbed for a junkie to get well… this guy has an unspeakable number of victims. Burn in hell

  4. The sad thing is that he thinks he's some sort of God. All I see is a piece of shit criminal that poisoned his community for millions but was seen as a hero because he sprinkled a few hundred dollars a day and he was good at basketball!

  5. They stole some of his life in American gangster the Frank Lucas story but your true basket ball fans know him and the other could be the goat those two will be street legends forever and when Kareem and DR.J talk about him what more can you say.
