  8. Gurl! I was a shy kid and was always afraid to raise my hand in school. Even in groups projects I just went along with my classmates I have always been told "Your never good at math!" I was never acknowledged by my teachers and one point my first grade teacher wanted to hold back a repeat first grade. I just suck at taking tests. I lived with that fixed mindset my whole life and it really killed my self confidence and repetition in classes from community college to a CSU brought my gpa in college. I recently graduated with a Bachelors in Anthropology but seriously it's hard to find a job in this economy. When looking at places to apply, they will ask "what your skills are" and honestly I still do not know and have lost motivation at the moment. Nevertheless, so many requirements! I have a disability and a passion for medicine despite my inability to math and science but I really believe in myself that I can make a difference in the world. My parents even told me that I was born to be a follower instead of a leader. Then, hallelujah ! I discovered a career as a physician assistant! Through you, I am slowly learning gratitude and how to be thankful for things. I flipped the negativity into positivity and wanted to prove myself that I can do it! I have been re learning math through an online resource called Khan Academy from the very bottom kindergarten to so far fifth grade. I am not embarrassed to share this because if I can do it then anyone can.
