  1. These methods work! I have a Nexus 6P phone. When I connect it to my Win10 PC, Windows Phone Companion pops up. However, it doesn't actually allow me to do anything. If I want to be able to see my phone in File Explorer, I have to use the phone's drop down settings to select an option from settings, e.g., "Transfer files," "Transfer photos (PTP), in order to see the files on the phone using File Explorer. Use one of the methods shown in the video to either disable the app or uninstall it to avoid the distraction of the pop up.
