  1. lol, A horse cannot run all day. A horse in good shape that is traveling a long distance can travel 20 miles in a day for several days in a row; most of this distance will be covered at a walk or trot. A horse in perfect racing condition can maybe run one mile at full speed without suffering serious injury. The longest distance an endurance racehorse travels in one day is 100 miles (the Tevis Cup Race) (in the US). Horses in this race don’t run much; they cover most of the distance at a trot, and many of the horses that start this race do not finish.
