I’ve studied nuclear war for 35 years — you should be worried. | Brian Toon | TEDxMileHigh

For the first time in decades, it’s hard to ignore the threat of nuclear war. But as long as you’re far from the blast, you’re safe, right? Wrong. In this sobering talk, …

  1. Trump just announced the U.S is to build more Nukes……The only Threat to Humanity as we know it is the U.S.A,If you do not think so….go back to your La La land.

  2. Why would anyone want to survive a nuclear war anyway. I just hope it drops on my house as i would not want to survive to live on a completely wrecked freezing pile of rocks. Thats all that would be left. No sun for many years no food nothing. Who is with me on this one.

  3. Interesting, when US will pay back for Japan? Not Nato but US aims with at Russia because of … FED's policy. War is business and may be also an end … of this business.

  4. So according to his chart at 8:41 the place to be during Nuclear Fallout with the least amount of radiation is:  Alaska, Parts of northern Canada, Part of Greenland, Iceland,  Southern Tip of South America, South Coast of Australia, New Zealand.  Note to self, begin the move process. 🙂

  5. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. Romans 8:19-21

  6. The very people who build and fund these weapons need to be killed because it takes research and lots of old and new information to make things like this become alive once you kill the people and the their blue prints of weopons. Their. dreams become hard to act

  7. The United States President Donald Trump's photo shown towards the end of the presentation is politics at it's best. The presenter couldn't include a photo of every President served in office after the creation of the nuclear bomb.

  8. Why is it the first time in decades? Because Trump is president? N. Korea was developing nukes in Obama era. Before that India and Pakistan joined the club. Before that Israel joined the club.

And in future, we spend billions of dollars on fusion reactors that are many times easier to make work with a shell of uranium that would multiply the energy produced by 10x+ and make easier bomb grade plutonium. As well we work to make it easier to make a cocktail of 10 different dna manipulated deadly germs through open dna manipulation research, such weapons might be worse than nuclear war, killing 90% to 99% of population if used.

  9. It was a female scientist who discovered uranium called Madam curie im not sure if thats spelled right but she was polish and she died not to long after discovering it from radiation poisoning.

  10. After all these warnings of wars, we as a civilization will eventually perished in another form. World population grows exponentially and what are gonna do about that? If noble preachings do work totally eradicating nuclear weapons, there's other threats to our existence yes? Food and power competition will lead to economic wars, albeit happening now as we speak. Our decline will inevitably happened however we strive to prevent it. Until by some miracle the world just suddenly matured socially in parallel fashion.

  11. He's not factoring in something major. The oxygen content was higher during the dinosaur era. that's why the aftermath was so bad. The fires never stopped and the smoke blocked the sun. An example today would be a forrest fire would wipe out the united states canada and mexico.
